$100: Tessa Boyle $50: Ella Botelho $25: Glenn DeLuca This year's Duck Race down the Salmon Falls river for the Garden Club's annual fundraiser was a great success once again! Not only did we break records for the number of duck tickets purchased, but the crowd and on-site ticket sales also topped previous years! Becky Wright's craft table for the kids helped keep a lot of little ones busy as they waited for the race to begin. The weather was beautiful and sunny and the wind directly before the finish line bunched up the winning contenders, prolonging the race and making Judith Nelson's race-calling skills extra exciting. Finally, ducks 1, 2, and 3 crossed the finish line and were scooped up by our duck wranglers to be announced to the crowd. Back behind the lower mill is getting to be a real hot-spot for Open Studios visitors with the Library's chocolate tasting, North Country Hard Cider, Embers Bakery pizza cart, and the Duck Race making an excellent stop for visitors and their families to take a break on the grass in the early afternoon. Everything was a great success! And also, guess what? As of last week, for the first time, we are completely sold out of all 36 gardening beds (plus our 2 community herb beds) for the first time ever! What a great week for the Club and the town! Thank you to all our supporters!
