Starting in spring 2018, the Rollinsford Community Garden will have an active beehive on the premises for the benefit of all gardeners and their plants. The beehive will be cared for by the resident beekeeper on a regular basis to ensure that the bees remain healthy. The beehive will be located out of the way of the garden beds, and you will be able to go about your normal garden business without concern. You will see an increase in honeybees on your plants and on garden grounds. Please keep this in mind during your garden visits and exercise caution if you notice particularly active bees. These insects exercise live and let live, so if you leave them to do their thing, they will leave you to do yours. The beehive is off-limits to gardeners. Please do not approach or attempt to access the beehive for the sake of your safety and that of the bees. If at any time you have questions about the bees, please reach out to Hannah Goodrow (firstname.lastname@example.org).
