Thanks to everyone who participated, RGLSC's 2015 annual fundraiser Duck Race was a great success! The weather was beautiful, and there was a huge crowd enjoying cider, pizza, and chocolate from various vendors. And we provided the Peeps! The kids had lots of fun with crafts and just sitting out for a nice family afternoon by the river. First place was duck #4. David Martingale very generously donated the $100 cash prize back to the Community Garden! Second place was duck #72 for a $50 cash prize to Jameson Small. And third place was duck #323 for $25 to the Pinard Family. Congratulations everyone, and we look forward to seeing you again next spring! The RGLSC is a 501(c)3 non-profit. This is the only fundraiser the Rollinsford Community Garden and Local Sustainability Club (RGLSC) does, so it is very important to us. The proceeds allow us to maintain our organic Community Garden on Foundry Street which has 38 raised beds for rent where gardeners can grow their veggies & flowers. There is also a nice walking trail which is open to the public which connects the garden to the Lower Mills. We mow the area weekly and maintain the beds, the trail, and the rainwater system for our gardeners and visitors. The club also maintains the Cross Street Garden Walkway, which is an old town road that was converted into a garden walkway by former resident Mr. Poirier of Third St.
